OK so the obvious question is, "who the heck are you?" Truth is I've been trying to figure that out
for about 39 years. Simple is best so, I'm a songwriter. I'm also a husband and a father (4 times
over). I've been writing songs for as long as I can remember but I have been seriously writing for
about 20 years. I did take a break for kids in the 90's. Somewhere around 2000 I picked up the
guitar again and starting writing again.
There is something amazing about a good song. It starts a s a feeling in your gut, and grows. If
you don't get it out, well...its like cancer. It starts growing and if you don't get it out it will KILL you.
That's what songwriting is to me.
I started writing and playing mostly for the girls. Lets face it. I am a normal heterosexual guy. I
know, kind of hard to admit in this day and age where normal is abnormal and middle of the road is
so outrageous.
I like my songs to say something. Whether it is politics (I'm a moderate libertarian) or love. My first
CD "Bits n Pieces" was a loose autobiography. Not really, but I laid the songs out as if they were
telling a story. I threw all of my political tunes onto my latest CD REVOLUTION. All but one that is.
There is a song on there called "Obsession" that is not about politics at all. Its about the girl that
got away. I guess I felt I needed to put at least one song on there that wasn't about politics.
For the record, "Obsession" is the title of a song, NOT a clinical diagnosis. What will my next
record be about? Probably relationships. Love, hope and despair. In fact, that is the working title.
I reserve the right to change my mind and write about something completely different.
So lets review: I'm a guy, married, with kids, songwriter, moderate libertarian and tend to ramble
